Sugar Free Cranberry Relish

Sugar Free Cranberry Relish

Cranberry relish is the sparkle of the holiday table — bright, bold, and in competition with the sauce. It never wins, but knows that it is necessary and loved. Even without sugar, it dances with flavor, where tart berries and spiced apples turn simple ingredients into a celebration. It’s the kind of dish that whispers of family gatherings, candlelight, and that sweet satisfaction of keeping things simple — yet utterly special. It’s knows it’s place and is settled in it’s own importance. In other words, it doesn’t need validation to feel special, or make our table feel special either.

Notes

  • Sweetener Choice – Use a granulated sweetener that measures cup-for-cup like sugar (erythritol, monk fruit blend, or allulose) for best texture and balanced sweetness.
  • Flavor Depth – A short simmer (about 10–12 minutes) helps the cranberries pop and thicken naturally; don’t overcook or it may turn jammy instead of relish-like.
  • Apple Variety – Tart apples like Granny Smith add a lively contrast; sweeter ones like Gala make a softer, mellow finish — both delicious depending on your mood.
  • Spice Control – Adjust the cinnamon, ginger, and cloves gently; these spices grow stronger as the relish sits, creating a warm, holiday glow after a day in the fridge.
  • Serving Tip – This relish shines next to roast turkey, but also sparkles over brie, yogurt, or even oatmeal — a little spoonful adds festive flair anywhere.
