Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp ground cloves

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup molasses

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup dried cranberries

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven – to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Dry Ingredients – In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
  3. Beat – In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Wet – Mix in the egg, molasses, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Combine – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Cranberries – Fold in the dried cranberries.
  7. Drop spoonfuls – of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake – for 8-10 minutes or until edges are set but centers are soft.
  9. Cool – Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Enjoy ✨

Notes

  • Storage – Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain softness.
  • Chewy – For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and let them cool completely on the tray.
  • Fresh – You can substitute dried cranberries with fresh ones for a tart flavor. I always prefer fresh when I can.
  • Thick – Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking makes thicker cookies.
