Cranberry Orange Scones

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/3 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and grated
– 2/3 cup milk
– 1 egg
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
– 1 TBSP Orange zest
– 1 cup fresh cranberries

INSTRUCTIONS

– Lightly grease a baking pan
– Preheat oven to 400 degrees
– Mix all dry ingredients and BUTTER very well
– Add in milk, egg, vanilla, berries and zest and mix.
– Pat dough into a circular shape and cut into wedges.

*** Optional: before baking brush dough with whisked egg and sprinkle 1 tsp cinnamon/1/4 cup sugar mixture.

Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes.
